"Asha Kiran" which means a Ray of Hope, stands as a beacon of light for children with different challenges. It is a community of learners where all learn according to their pace and ability. A variety of candles were displayed for sale at the stalls put up in the college campus by inmates of Jagjit Singh Sachdeva Asha Kiran Special School Jahan Khela. To encourage these special children, and to contribute towards their welfare, members of the Staff and Students made decent purchases.

Our College bagged the overall trophy in the Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival-2017. To celebrate this achievement, a Cultural event “UTSAV” was organized in the College Auditorium. Officiating Principal Dr. Arti Saluja congratulated and thanked all the students, participants and winners. She also extended thanks to Hon’ble President Dr. Anoop Kumar Ji, and worthy Secretary, Sh. Inauguration Of The New Academic Session

Dr. Anoop Kumar, Honorable President DAV College Managing Committee, Hoshiarpur officially released the College Magazine "Shikhshodaya" at a simple function in the presence of members of Governing Body, Officiating Principal Arti Saluja, Chief Editor Mrs Harvinder Kaur, Faculty members, members of the staff and students. Speaking on the occasion he appreciated the efforts of the Editorial Team and suggested the editors to adopt the prevalent style and presentation techniques.

To accelerate personal, professional and all round excellence of students and staff The Art of Living Center Hoshiarpur conducted a powerful Life-Skills program on "Youth Empowerment" in the College Auditorium on 25/04/2017. The workshop included a smooth blend of ancient wisdom, yoga, pranayama (breath control), meditation and the SudarshanKriya, fused with contemporary intellectual exchanges. Volunteer Mr. Tanya Bassi emphasized upon 3 C'S i.e. sharper Concentration, unwavering Confidence and crisp Clarity for success in life. According to him YES!+re-energizes body and mind, removes stress, increases concentration and memory and gives life a kick where it is most needed.

To spread legal literacy and legal awareness among the College students, Advocate Ms Arti Sharma, Advocate Sh Sunil Prashar and Para legal volunteer Ms Anita Kumari of the District Legal Services Authority Hoshiarpur organised a seminar in the College Auditorium. The major focus was on Human Rights, Consumer Rights, Rights of women & crime against women, Senior Citizen's Act, Lok Adalats and provision of free legal Aid to accident victims.

Stressing on the value of Yoga in every day life Swami Gyana Nand Das, the Chief Guest said that Yoga is not just exercise and asanas but a scientific way to healthy, happier living with reduced anxiety, increased tolerance and mindfulness.

A User Awareness Program was conducted by Library And Information Literacy Cell with the efforts of College Librarian Mrs. Harvinder Kaur on 31st March 2017. Awards/ prizes were given to Best Users, Volunteers and winners of Reading and Quiz contests. Speaking on the occasion, Principal officiating Dr. Arti Saluja stressed on the need for developing Information Literacy Skills in the students so as to enable them, to exploit, the wide range of information resources available, and to retrieve, evaluate, and use that information, effectively and ethically.

An extension lecture on Model Based Lesson Planning was delivered by Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Assistant Professor, GHS Khalsa College Of Education, Gursar Sidhar in the college auditorium on March 28, 2017. During the interactive question answer session students got their doubts and queries cleared. 'ANUSMARAN 2017', a wonderful and memorable Alumni meet was organized on Sunday March 19, 2017 under the guidance of Hon'ble President Dr. Anoop Kumar Ji and Worthy Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand Ji of DAV College Managing Committee. The alumni were able to meet each other, their former teachers and other staff members. Old relationships were cherished, celebrated, and refreshed and new ones were formed. The program started with lighting of lamp followed by floral welcome of all the guests. Office bearers of the Alumni Association were felicitated with bouquets. Principal (officiating) Dr. Arti Saluja welcomed the guests and apprised them of the achievements and developments in the College. She expressed her gratitude for the valuable contribution and passionate involvement of the alumni in the college activities. Mr. H.C. Sharma, President of the Association and other alumni shared their experiences, professional and personal achievements as well as interesting moments of campus life. Cultural items including a fusion folk dance, Luddi Dance presented by alumni and students made the day vibrant and colorful. Fun games were also organized and prizes were distributed. A delicious lunch was served. All the distinguished personalities were honoured with mementos. Everybody enjoyed thoroughly. The reunion ended on a graceful note.

International Women Day was celebrated in the College with great enthusiasm. Dr. Neeraja Dhingra, Principal DAV College, Hoshiarpur was the chief guest. Speaking on the theme "Be bold for change", she emphasized on gender equality. Dr. Arti Saluja, officiating principal, asked the audience to appreciate and support the women in their lives. On this Occasion, Miss Punjaban Contest was organised by Kalpana Chawla Women Development Club of the college and student Lovedeep was chosen as Miss Punjaban.
